Happy New Year! (and some updates from No Longer Native)

Hello there, I hope everyone is enjoying the first days of 2017!

The new year is the perfect time to take stock of the past twelve months. Looking back on 2016, I can’t believe how full it was.

When we left Bogotá in May, we had no idea where we’d end up. Over the summer in Madrid, we spent each moment that Cody wasn’t working trying to see as much of Spain as possible. Still unsure of our permanent situation this fall, I returned to the U.S. while Cody split time between Spain and California.

If you’ve been keeping up with some of my recent posts, then you know I’m so thankful for the time spent with family and friends. It was the perfect break to clear my heart and get ready for the next big adventure.

On the topic of adventures and new beginnings, we can finally say for sure where we’ll be living: Madrid! As we speak, I’m here searching for an apartment and making plans for the next couple of years. After almost eight months of ‘transition,’ we’re more than excited to settle down.

Thank you for hanging with me these past several months as No Longer Native reflected my scattered life. I can’t wait to share more of our lives in Spain and what I’m learning along the way. Cheers to what’s ahead for all of us in 2017!
